Are you new to UMass Lowell? Do you want to learn more about what is offered for Muslim students on and around campus? Look no further! Below is a list of all the resources you'll need as a Muslim attending Umass Lowell.
Prayer Spaces:
UMass Lowell offers 3 prayer spaces located on North and South Campus as well as one in UCrossing:
North Campus Prayer Room: Alumni Hall B3 (Basement of Alumni Hall). Need your ID to get in, to get access, click here!
Daily prayer congregations (times posted above and on the home page), Tasbeeh, Qurans, and prayer clothes are also available
Jumu'ah is offered in the main Alumni Hall, adhan at 1:00pm
South Campus Prayer Room: O'Leary 511 (O'Leary Library)
Key available at the library front desk (bring your ID for checkout)!
Ucrossing: Serenity Room which is on the 3rd floor (not a dedicated prayer room but a safe space to pray)
Local Masjid:
If you are looking for a masjid with a strong community and a knowledgeable Imam, the Islamic Society of Greater Lowell (ISGL) is a great place! It is located at 5 Courthouse Lane, Chelmsford MA and is only 10 minutes from campus.
Halal Food:
UMass Lowell dining does offer halal chicken and halal burgers! As of 2021, the MSA successfully convinced the school to bring halal options into their dining halls. These halal options are available in all the campus dining halls, just look for the halal sign!

Crown Fried Chicken (9 minute walk from East Campus)
Amir's Takeout (10 minute walk from South campus)
Paradise Biryani (10 minute walk from South Campus)
Dave's Hot Chicken (9 minute drive from South Campus)
The north campus prayer room
